Crystal Wedding Bouquets and Boutonnieres vs Flowers

Swarovski crystal bouquets and boutonnieres are the ideal way to do something that is different and incredibly beautiful on your big day. They provide a perfect way to extend the theme of crystals or pearls that are in your dress and jewelry throughout your entire wedding party and d?cor.

The benefits of choosing crystals over flowers for you wedding day are endless. In my personal opinion, the number one reason to choose a crystal bouquet is the sheer impact of the sparkle that will catch your guests eyes as you walk around the corner. The first thing that you do is not only shine, but you will twinkle. The bouquets will fill rooms with rainbows if they are in natural sunlight and are unbelievably sparkly and bright even in candle light.

I have learned recently that not all women are head-over-heels for flowers. If you happen to be one of these, whether it is due to allergies or simply personal preference, don't worry because you have an alternative to traditional bouquets and boutonnieres (see link below). You can choose crystals for your entire party or you can decide to set yourselves apart from the rest and just you and your groom can carry and wear them, this is up to you.

Another benefit of crystal bouquets and boutonnieres is that that they can be shipped very easily. Since destination weddings are very popular these days, you don't have to worry about not being able to meet with a local florist before your wedding date. You can purchase your bouquets months ahead of time and take them with you.

Preservation of floral arrangements can be very pricey if you decide to pay someone to do it for you, yet very tedious and frustrating if you try to do it yourself. With Swarovski crystal bouquets and boutonnieres you don't have to deal with any of it, the arrangements will look exactly the same as they did on your wedding day eternally, and you don't have to do a thing. When you think about it, they are heirlooms from the day they are purchased.

The arrangements can also be customized to coordinate with your color scheme by using any of the myriads of colors, or combination of colors, that you have to choose from in Swarovski crystals and pearls. You can also match the colors of the ribbons to your bridal party's dresses and tuxedos, the possibilities are endless.

Choosing your Wedding Bouquet

Dont know a Rose from a Rhododendron?

Every bride needs a bouquet fact. Not every bride is interested in flowers, their delicate formation, what part of the world they originate, just how much is this going to cost me?

Irrespective of your interest or lack of in your bouquet, it has to be colour co-ordinated with the bridal party. Every bridesmaid will need a bouquet, obviously smaller than the brides, bouquet or hand held posies for the flowers girls, button holes for the Dads, Grooms, Best Men and Pageboy. Stick to the following guidelines and (hopefully!) you wont go too far wrong.

What time of the year are you getting married?

This will determine what selection of flowers will be available to you If you want a specific flower that may be out of season, a reputable florist will be able to order it in for you but be ready to pay the price.

Do you have a favourite flower?

If so, incorporate it in your bouquet as the main flower with possibly only some greenery or babys breath added to pad out the bouquet.

What height are you?

You may ask what bearing this has on your bouquet!! If you are small in stature you do not want a large (wide) bouquet as it will only dwarf you. Select instead a long and narrow bouquet which will give you height. On the flip side, if you are a tall bride, you can opt for a larger bouquet but remember these bouquets can be heavy to hold.

If you see a bouquet that you like in either a magazine or on a website, keep a copy and bring it to your florist to give them an idea as what style you have in mind. It will make it easier on you both in the long run.

If you are decorating the venue of the wedding ceremony, remember less is more. An elaborate stand or two at the top is sufficient. If you wish to bring these floral arrangements to the reception, please give sufficient thought as to how (realistically) portable they are. Only give this job to someone you trust (speaking from experience here!)

Ensure that you get a quote in writing from your florist breaking down the costs so there wont be any hidden or surprise charges.

Flowers really do enhance a venue albeit church, reception room, wherever, so do put some thought into it.

Ideally, try and see your venue set up for another wedding. Take note of what they have done with the room and specifically where they placed the floral arrangements. If nothing else, it may give you some ideas of your own.

Wedding Bouquets for Life

One of the most beautiful of the bride's adornments at a wedding is the bouquet. Normally constructed of fresh flowers, the wedding bouquet would last for a week or two, and then have to be dried or tossed. Today that is not the case; today's modern bride has options that are more permanent.

There are various bridal books, magazines and shops to help you choose the perfect style and color. The arrangement you select should be a reflection of your personality and/or the color scheme of your wedding.

A growing popularity in wedding flowers is silk flowers. Silk flowers are non-allergenic, will never wilt and can be kept as a remembrance of your special day for years to come. Another advantage over silk flowers is their cost and durability.

Another option for the wedding bouquets is stunning handmade porcelain flowers. Porcelain and silk flowers are available in traditional styles. With a seemingly unlimited array of colors, these amazing creations last a lifetime. Many come with a display stand included in the purchase price, so your wedding bouquet now has become an exquisite family heirloom.

As you plan your special day, consider the option of a porcelain handmade bouquet. The cost is a bit higher, yet the memories of your ceremony will be with you forever. In addition, your wedding bouquet will be with you as well, a permanent reminder of your love for each other.

Funeral Flowers-A Guide to Sending Sympathy Floral Arrangements

The death of my father was probably the most painful experiences I ever had. Despite death being a natural part of life, most people, like me, still have difficulties getting thru this experience.

So how exactly do we alleviate the sorrow that the bereaved is experiencing?

It is traditional to have flowers sent to the church or funeral parlor by relatives and friends. But giving the florist a call, ordering some flowers, and getting them delivered is not quite enough. Some decorum needs to be followed regarding this tradition.

Sending the Flowers to the Proper Places

The recovery process of the mourning family is made faster because of the different ceremonies organized during the grieving process. Visitations and viewings are held to welcome everyone who wants to pay their respects to the family. Funeral flowers may be delivered to the home, parlor, or place of worship where such ceremonies are held. If no such services are held, flowers may be delivered directly to the residence of the deceased.

Prior to the initial visit to the parlor or church, funeral flower planning should be organized by a close family member. Funeral directors often allow flowers to be delivered a day before the wake. But most people choose to send them on the morning of the ceremony. However, if the delivery can not be made in time, the florals can be sent to the home of the deceased.

What Kind of Sympathy Flower Arrangement to Send

The spouse of the departed usually chooses a Bleeding Heart, while other types of floral sympathy sprays may be delivered by relatives and associates.

The immediate family of the deceased can order the sympathy casket wreaths or casket covers.

But different floral arrangements like crosses, wreaths, and sprays may be requested by anybody who would like to extend their condolences to the family of the deceased.

Numerous arrangements of funeral flowers that are even more personalized are now offered for these occasions.

  • Normally comprised of roses or sometimes calla lilies, casket arrangements are top choices of friends and relatives.
  • For a beautiful display at the wake, funeral flower baskets are the ones usually ordered.
  • Sympathy sprays are popular with groups where the deceased is a member of.
  • An organization of the family of the deceased can send floral wreaths.
  • One may also choose to send vase arrangements to the family or close friends of the deceased.
Note, however, that often after the funeral service the grieving family needs the most comforting. Sending flowers, a gift basket, or a simple note of "Know that I will be here if you need me" even weeks after the death is a beautiful act of compassion.

Sending flowers for the loss of a friend or relative's loved one is never easy. Often times, people are confused by which funeral flowers would be appropriate to send. In order to alleviate some of the stress of this decision for you, here are some traditional sympathy flowers, plants, and messages for sympathy cards to help you out.

THE FLORAL RECIPES

As a Floral Designer I am always looking at simple ways of enhancing the use of flowers. With the dull grey skies of the monsoons, it would be nice to liven up a lunch or dinner table with some bright colours.

It is really simple to use household stuff that is easily available and change the ways the flowers look in your home. Floral arranging is the only field of fine arts in which anyone can excel, since creative ability can be developed by everyone.

The medium used is inherently beautiful so one does not need a high level of technical skill like an artist or a musician who has to manipulate paint, rock, clay or instruments to derive beauty from it. Flowers and other material of nature have their own beauty we simply need to combine these to enhance our enjoyment.

Of course, floral arrangement as an art has a history, even if it has not been documented as meticulously as some other arts. We look at an arrangement in the lobby of a five-star hotel and wonder how expensive it could be, but we could make our homes look exotic without spending much.

To be honest, it does not take much to have wonderful floral arrangements at home -- just a little out-of-the-box thinking is all it takes. In any case, you would already be spending a bit on buying flowers. With some extra thought, the same bunch of flowers can be made to look so different. The beauty of it all is that, depending on the 'accessories' or 'ingredients' used no two arrangements will look the same.

Instead of just bright gerberas stuck in a no-nonsense vase, or orchids in a glass vase, why not change the look with simple techniques? Or why not simply use a fruit innovatively like a vase?

A Floral Recipe; using things from the kitchen or easily available "other" ingredients, we can make new recopies everyday.

In fact, you could work you way around and use different arrangements for each room of your home. Most of these arrangements will last anywhere between three to six days.

I have thought up 2 recopies here, and a variant on each.

Colour On Colour

Here's what you need:

1. Four clear glass tumblers. Could be different shapes, or sizes.

2. A basic wire stand or basket or Wooden Tray (could be an old pickle stand that we keep on our tables).

3. Food colours like yellow, red and green.

4. 12 brightly coloured (Red) Gerberas.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Fill the tumblers with clear water and then add food colour - green in one, orange, blue and yellow in the others.

2. Place these tumblers in the wire stand or on the edges of a small wooden tray.

3. Fill each of them with the bright, contrasting gerberas.

4. Three gerberas each are enough to ensure that the rims of the tumblers are covered.

Decide where to display the stand but make sure that the contrasting coloured water and the gerberas are visible clearly.

Voila! You have a stunning colourful display that is so easily made and so different from the typical 'flowers-in-a-vase' look.

VARIANT:

Use the same display differently in a bedroom, for instance, using the backdrop of the mirror to double the colour effect and do away with the stand or tray, simply place them on the dresser.

The Melon Dip

Here's what you need:

1. Three musk melons. Not very large.

2. Six long purple orchid stalks.

3. A sharp carver knife.

4. Small 2 inch bits of firm aluminum wire, or wrapping thread (not ribbon)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Slice off the top a bit so that the soft peach flesh is exposed.

2. Cut the 6 stalks of orchids diagonally so that each has a sharp edge.

3. Wrap thin, flat cotton soaked with water around the stem edge.

4. Wrap a piece of transparent plastic around the cotton and then wrap firm wire around the plastic to hold. Or use the thread to tighten the plastic around the cotton.

5. Now your stalk of orchid is strong and firm enough to push into the soft flesh of the exposed melon. Push the orchid stalks in on a slant; this will give a wind swept look to the display.

The contrasting texture of the skin of the melon and the peachy pink flesh used as a natural container, against the contrast with bright purple orchid stalks and you have a masterpiece.

VARIANT:

Some candles could be added too. Use the wire to wrap 3 toothpicks onto the candle base and you have a candle stand! This can then be inserted into the melon.

Use two orchids to a melon if the melons are small or more stalks to make a delightfully simple floral display.

Florist Amaryllis - Dutch vs African

Dutch marketers have grown and offered for wholesale and mail order flowering bulbs for centuries throughout the world and for many years in the United States. Because the climate of the Netherlands was similar to the Northern United States, many of their catalog bulb favorite flower bulbs grew and thrived year after year. In many humid, arid, or warm areas of the United States, these flower bulbs can perform and grow as an annual plant, but generally will not reappear the year following flowering.

The most common Dutch flower bulbs marketed at first were Daffodil, Scilla, and Tulips, however, after World War II, the Dutch began to market Calla lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica), Daylily, Pineapple Lily (Eucomis), Amazon Lily (Eucharis grandiflora), and Gloriosa vine lily (Gloriosa rothschildiana).

Amaryllis bulbs have been hybridized by inter crossing different native species from several continents. The amaryllis group of flower bulbs is among the great advancements of hybrid bulb improvement in color, size, flower form, flower number, flower bloom stalks, and repeated blooming cycles. The knowledge that cold treatment, heat, and forcing amaryllis bulbs to flower at the desired time has produced a flower bulb with an exact behavior that blooms at a predictable season. Christmas amaryllis flowers, anniversary gifts and presents, and various holiday occasions are greatly enjoyed by the predictable flowering patterns of amaryllis. Before World War II, amaryllis were hybridized in Florida using various species from South and Central America. The resulting amaryllis hybrids were moderately cold hardy and could be planted outside in zones 7-11, where the bulbs readily multiplied into clumps of spectacular flowering beauty that would rebloom reliably every year.

The Dutch hybridizers developed a long line of clear colors in amaryllis, some solid colored amaryllis and others with various colors of alternating stripe patterns. The Dutch amaryllis bulb market was directed toward the florist trade and growing amaryllis by forcing early flowers to bloom for the holiday season. The Dutch colorful amaryllis of red, pink, white, purple, and orange flowers won the marketing war between the Florida amaryllis growers and the Dutch growers. The Florida outdoor hybrid amaryllis market in the 1950's collapsed and the Dutch became the winners. Many huge clumps of Florida (South American hybrids) can be found blooming throughout the South in yards during late spring, however, there is no company offering these bulbs for sale anymore, only backyard growing flowers remain.

Amaryllis flower bulbs are usually marketed retail with a designation of bulb size diameter given in the metric system, but cm (centimeters) is a term not understood by most American gardeners. Huge amaryllis bulbs (mother bulbs) are 40cm in size or about the size of a grapefruit. The mother bulb amaryllis can produce as many as 4 flower stems, some stem clusters containing six flowers. The mother bulb amaryllis are rare and expensive but well worth the extra money for a flower lover. Guaranteed African amaryllis flowering can occur on flower bulbs as small as 22cm, and some of the miniature (dwarf) amaryllis new hybrids from Africa will bloom on 12cm bulbs, producing tiny stems and small flowers. The African bulbs of amaryllis will rebloom more and will produce more flower stems than Dutch amaryllis. Florists find that African flowering amaryllis are easier to flower for the Christmas season than Dutch amaryllis. African amaryllis often produce 2 flower stems at once, but Dutch bulbs don't. African amaryllis bloom in many unusual pastel colors of pink, lavender, red, white, and striped.

The Dutch hybridizers have introduced a new amaryllis flower color: yellow, and many pastel colors with a doubling of the petal count on an amaryllis flower called a "double amaryllis." These double amaryllis flowers normally grow 12 petals instead of the normal 6. Improvements of petal count to an increase of 18 petals is called a "triple flowered" amaryllis.

Other notable improvements that were made on the amaryllis flower by the Dutch were: larger amaryllis flowers, more blooms per stem, more stems produced by an amaryllis bulb and repeated blooming. Clones of amaryllis bulbs were hybridized that could be chilled to predictably flower during the holiday season of Christmas by planting the amaryllis in a measured and controlled light, heat, and moisture condition at a precise date (most cultivars bloom 3 weeks after planting). After flowering, most Dutch amaryllis bulbs can be planted outside in the yard in zones 8-10, but the bulbs may freeze in the ground if planted in cold zones.

The Dutch hybridizers have also established hybrid amaryllis colonies in Africa, where different varieties (clones) have been developed to satisfy the needs of the American florist trade. These floral amaryllis bulbs are called African amaryllis, named after African, the continent where they are grown in huge fields for the commercial florist market in Europe and America. The wholesale market of the African amaryllis is tightly controlled by Dutch bulb distributors, who have dominated bulb wholesale and retail sales throughout the United States and the world. The flower clusters of the African amaryllis are short and more compact. The leaves of the African amaryllis begin to appear simultaneously with the flowers, whereas the Dutch amaryllis period of flowering is often finished before the leaves appear. Florists prefer leaf foliage and flowering to occur at the same time. Many Dutch flower stems grow extra tall and that makes the weight of the flowers top-heavy. Occasionally this problem causes the amaryllis pot to turn over.

Miniature amaryllis have been developed for the florist appeal for a colorful, fragile bloomer. Yellow or gold colored amaryllis have been bred for florists with a flair for the dramatic, however, red amaryllis are by far the most popular color.

Some hybridizers, especially the African hybridizers, have developed fragrant amaryllis with a very pleasant scent. It appears likely that the quality of fragrance will be incorporated in future plans for improving amaryllis flowers further.

Melbourne Florist Advises On Care Of Fresh Flowers

Melbourne Florists chief florist Francine Rizza says that it is important to purchase your fresh flowers from a florist who stores their flowers within their store and not on the street. Fresh flowers will last a lot longer when not exposed to the elements, as flowers are sensitive to ethylene gases produced by passing traffic.

Most good florists purchase only premium quality flowers. You will not find this quality by purchasing cheap flowers from service stations, supermarkets or fruit shops. It is false economy to purchase flowers from such suppliers. At Melbourne Florist our flowers are purchased on demand from our high quality supplier, "Tesselaar Flowers", specialist wholesale florist Melbourne. You can be assured of our flower quality.

With proper care fresh flowers should attain a vase life of 10-14 days, depending upon the cultivar. Lillium, chrysanthemum, gerbera and Australian native flowers are among the longest lasting flowers and can last in excess of three weeks. Firstly choose your flowers skillfully. Avoid buying flowers with yellowing or transparent leave. Examine stems looking for small brown blotches. These are signs that the flowers may be affected by botrytis. Botrytis blight or gray mold is a fungus disease that can affect a wide variety of flowers and plants.

Care and Handling. Remove all packaging materials such as cellophane. Trim stems under water. Strip leaves from lower stems, taking care no foliage will clutter the vase water. Place flowers in a clean container containing a properly prepared solution of fresh flower food. Melbourne Florist advises that you clean your vases using hydrogen peroxide. Domestic cleaner, "white King" is a good choice. Do not overcrowd your vase as flowers need breathing space to survive just as you do! Avoid using water with high fluoride levels, if possible, flowers such as alstroemeria which are susceptible to fluoride damage. By repeating this process of flower care every 2-3 days you can greatly extend the life of your cut flower arrangement. Flowers arranged by the florist in florists foam known as oasis floral foam should by kept topped with fresh water containing a good quality flower food such as "CHRYSAL" Which is supplied by reputable florists. Do not place your fresh flowers in "hot spots" such as near windows or on top of heaters as the life of your flowers will be severely effected.

It is important you do not use flower food for any bulb flowers such as daffodils, hyacinths and tulips as the flower food will cause the stems to grow too much and become weak. Bulb flowers are unique as their food is stored in their bulb

The Florist's Secrets: Discover how to care for your Flowers

Flowers immediately brighten up a room, adding a sense of spring and joy. As flowers are a living and a relatively costly decoration, it

pays to keep them alive and healthy looking for as long as possible.Knowing some of a florist??s secrets for flower care are the best means

of ensuring a prolonged life for a healthy bouquet of flowers. The first thing to know about floral care is immediate care. You can compare

a florist to a doctor in a maternity ward, checking that the newly arrived bundle is in good health and will stay that way. As soon as a

floral shipment arrives, the florist gets to work, as immediate care is necessary for living plants. As our world is becoming considerably

more ecologically conscious, many florists use natural methods of prolonging the life of plants, which often turn out to be less expensive

methods. If you are ecologically conscious, you may prefer knowing some natural tips for floral care. There are some secrets not widely

known which offer great protection and life extension to your flowers, as well as some widely known old-wives tale type of tips, which often

do have merit to them. Uncovering these secrets of the trade will simplify floral care and leave your flowers looking better for longer.

From the moment cut flowers are in your possession, you must take measures to care for them. Time is of the essence in these moments of

primary care. Immediately place the flowers to soak in a bowl while you get yourself ready: find the appropriate vase, have the plant food

at hand, find a strong pair of shears or a sharp knife, and room temperature water (on the cooler, rather than warmer, side). Fill the vase,

and add whatever plant food/ anti-bacterial product you plan to use. Turn on the tap, and placing each stem under the running water, cut

about an inch and a half off of each flower. It is important to keep the flower under a constant stream of water, as this will avoid air

bubbles from forming, which temporarily cut off the water supply to the flower. Use either a knife or very sharp shears to cut the stems, as

a terrible mistake is to cut with scissors that end up flattening the stem without cutting it. This will also damage the water supply from

stem to flower. When cutting, cut at an angle, as that makes greater surface area for the water to enter the stem. Cut off any leaves that

will be under water, as left on the stems, they will begin to rot and promote bacterial growth. Keep your flowers out of direct sunlight and

heat, and change the water often. These initial steps will ensure a healthy bouquet.

For those seeking natural means of protecting and caring for flowers, the only thing to avoid from the above-mentioned description of flower

care will be the plant food and anti-bacterial preservative to keep the plants healthy. There are many natural formulas for those preferring

to avoid the chemicals found in plant food. Water is the essential element for all of life to survive. So, ensuring that your plant gets

the best water for it will ensure a longer life. Soft, acidic water is best for flowers, as it optimizes the flowers?? veins bringing up

water to the rest of the plant. When you change the water daily, trim off a bit more of the stem to cut off any bacteria that may be living

at the stem entrance, as well as reopen the stem??s vein. Use a vase that allows room for the flowers. When flowers are packed together

tightly, they have less air, and more chances of rotting. White sugar is really all that plants need for food, and can substitute plant

food. Old wives?? tales often turn out to be valuable natural care methods, so read on to learn about these.

As silly as some old wives?? tales seem, this folklore often has a scientific basis, and should never be discarded off the bat. Instead of

using the chemicals of plant food, throwing a copper penny into the vase really will help your plants, as copper is a natural fungicide which

prevents the growth of yeast and fungus. Acidic water is healthy for flowers, as it helps keep levels of bacteria in water low. While

throwing an aspirin into the vase won??t bring down a fever, it will help kill bacteria, as aspirin is acidic. Lemon juice or vinegar, with

their strong acidity, work as well. To finish up, let??s divulge some little known secrets of the florists! Always keep your bouquets away

from sources of electricity, as the waves emitted dehydrate flowers. If you notice that your flowers are already dehydrated and weakening,

there is a "miracle cure" hot water treatment. Wrap the ends of the stems in a newspaper, secured by a rubber band, and immerse into boiling

water for about 20 seconds, followed immediately by immersion in cold water. This is known to bring life back to flowers by stimulating

water absorption. Another great tip that helps prevent wilting is to keep your flowers refrigerated (in water) for a few hours before

displaying them. For instance, imagine flowers for weddings - it??s often impossible to prepare the flowers the day of the wedding. So

florists prepare them a day in advance, and keep them in a large fridge overnight.

Florists follow these time tested tips, and as a result, they show off beautiful, healthy flowers. You don??t need to be a florist to show

off your own beautiful flowers! Taking care of a bouquet can extend its life by as much as a few weeks, and the effort needed to achieve

this is quite minimal. Remember that the most decisive moments of your flowers?? lifespan are the moments the flowers are first in your

possession. Take good care upon receiving them, and they will thrive. In caring for them, many natural methods are just as useful as plant

food and preservative, so they are worth looking into. Lastly, don??t ignore the folklore surrounding flower care, as it holds much wisdom

and does improve a bouquet??s health! As with all things natural and living, it is often the simplest things which are needed to stay healthy

and strong. So keep your flowers watered and fed, and you??ll have a healthy bouquet which will age beautifully!

Florist Or Supermarket - Which Flowers Are A Better Buy?

We have all seen the beautiful displays of colorful bunches of fresh flowers at our local supermarkets. They are usually placed at strategic points all over the store, targeting the impulse buyer. These flowers are full bloomed, bunched in attractive groupings that can be so very tempting. The question is, are these flowers really a good value?

Flowers sold in most supermarkets can, in fact, be very different than those purchased at your local florist. Often supermarket flowers are a lower grade bloom, culled by the grower from higher grade florist quality flowers. These flowers are offered to supermarkets and other chain stores at a reduced price. In many cases supermarket flowers do not receive the proper care and handling when received by these retail giants. Cut flowers must receive the proper care and handling, or their vase life can be greatly shortened. Once processed and cleaned, fresh cut flowers must be kept at a sustained temperature of 38 to 40 degrees in order to increase their vase life. Where cut flowers are displayed is another critical matter.

Ethylene gas is produced by all plants, fruits and flowers as they ripen and mature. The higher the ethylene gas level, the faster fruits ripen, plants flower and cut flowers die. It is very important that cut flowers are stored and displayed at the lowest ethylene gas level possible. I have visited all of my local supermarkets and, have found that all of them process and display most of their cut flowers in open buckets or open faced coolers the produce department! Storing flowers near ripening produce decreases their vase life by several days, this is a proven fact.

You will find that most quality flower shops process their flowers by strict quality standards. Fresh flowers are quickly unpacked upon receipt, fresh cut and placed in preservative solution. Flowers are then allowed to drink at room temperature for several hours before placed in temperature controlled refrigeration. Most flower shops store their processed flowers in closed refrigerated cases under a constant temperature of 38 degrees. Many times these refrigerated cases have ethylene gas filters to keep the ethylene gas level as low as possible.

Over all, I have found the quality, care and handling of flowers at flower shops to be greatly superior to that of the local supermarkets. These factors will greatly increase the vase life of florist quality flowers. Many times price is believed to be a big issue but, most flower shops run daily specials on loose cut flowers that will rival or, beat supermarket prices.

I suggest that the next time you are tempted by the colorful, fresh looking flowers at your local grocer, visit your local flower shop instead. Have them put together a mixed bunch of seasonal flowers and, you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference in quality, service and vase life you find there!
